Home Maintance that's easy and you don't think about!

There are many things that you can do around your house getting ready for the changing of the seasons! So this past week I worked to get my house ready for Fall. The first thing that we all know about Fall is that the leaves fall...duh! Cleaning your gutters can be an easy task that helps maintain your house quite a bit.

Dirty gutters can be the cause of water in your basement and overtime can cause foundation issues. It doesn't take much to clean them out and usually isn't really the dirtiest of jobs (that is unless you wait till spring to do it...yuck).

Be sure to clean your gutters!

  1. Great advice! I think that cleaning out your gutters is often one of the simple things that gets frequently overlooked. Since it's not really considered critical or time sensitive, it often gets pushed to the back of a long to do list and before you know it, your battling it in the spring time.

  2. Gah. We just had to do that last week before it got too cold out. By we, I mean the boyfriend, while I handed him power tools up to the roof. Quite honestly, I have no idea what he would need power tools for up there, but at least the gutters are cleaned out, for now!!

  3. This is one of the many reasons why I'm so content being a renter. There are absolutely days when I do wish I had a bit more room to spread out but then winter comes and while there's someone outside who's paid handsomely to shovel the parking lot and sidewalks, I'm sitting indoors sipping hot cocoa waiting for him to finish so I can go on about my day, lol.

And as an aside...these gutters (which I know aren't yours because I did a Google Images search, lol, thank you, Catfish) appear to have started sprouting plants...I know enough to know that that is absolutely not want you want your gutters to look like before you decide to clean them. Those are just waiting for the next heavy rainfall to separate from that house completely. Yikes!
