A tradition of fall is raking the leafs! While this can be a very taxing task, there are alternatives to raking. Mowing leaves into your lawn can help increase the health of your grass. It is a misconception that you have to rake all the leaves in your yard. Does it look better? Yes. It doesn't really help though. The nutrients that your yard can receive from mowing the leafs up are better than if you just rake everything up!

Ugh raking leaves seems like such a pointless chore to me. I mean you rake them all up, the wind blows and boom their right back in your yard! I think that mowing them into your grass like you suggested is a better choice!
ReplyDeleteI like the mowing option, picking up leaves is exhausting. While I love the homes hidden in the trees, I'm glad I don't have an overwhelming amount of leaves. I do see people with those blowers and that makes the work look less daunting.
ReplyDeleteGood to know! My boyfriend was weighing the options last week (before remembering to follow through with it). He referred to it as the 'easy way' or the 'what looks better way.' Ha! I'll have to remind him and help him that 'the easy way' is the better way!
